Master’s Program in Religious Studies at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Holds Thesis Writing Acceleration Workshop to Support Students’ Academic Progress
Thesis Writing Acceleration Workshop
Yogyakarta, October 16, 2025 — In an effort to strengthen a productive academic culture and accelerate students’ study completion, the Master’s Program in Religious Studies (MSAA), Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, organized a Thesis Writing Acceleration Workshop at the FUPI Smart Room. The activity was part of the program’s commitment to supporting students in becoming more prepared, systematic, and focused throughout their final research writing process.
The two-day workshop featured several speakers who provided intensive guidance on thesis proposal development, methodological formulation, and research result writing in accordance with academic standards and scientific ethics. The event was also attended by the Head of the Master’s Program in Religious Studies, Dr. Dian Nur Anna, S.Ag., M.A, along with lecturers and program administrators who provided full support for the activity, including Dr. Munawar Ahmad, M.Si and Dr. Moh Soehadha, M.Hum.
The workshop was designed as a collaborative learning platform involving students, academic supervisors, and the Master’s Program in Religious Studies. Through mentoring sessions and methodological discussions, students were guided to develop feasible and high-quality thesis research designs. Beyond accelerating study completion, the workshop also aimed to foster students’ awareness of the importance of producing scholarly works that are relevant to contemporary religious issues.
The participants showed great enthusiasm throughout the sessions. A total of 25 active students took part in the activity, engaging in discussions and receiving direct feedback from the speakers. This initiative is expected to become a strategic step in improving the effectiveness of the academic supervision process, strengthening students’ research capabilities, and expanding the academic contribution of the Master’s Program in Religious Studies in the development of Islamic studies and interfaith dialogue in Indonesia.
